What Customers Say About Plantronics MX500i 3-in-1 Headset:

This item is great, we have about 12 of them in our office and use them for podcasting as well as telephone answering and even on the iphone.Work on XP, Vista and Mac without a problem, plug and play.

But when using it, there is way too much static for the caller on the other end (FYI - changing the volume had no effect). I bought this at the local Fry's Store hoping to finally have my hands free for typing while talking on the phone to customers. Could it be the phones that I tried it on.Well, I plugged it into two different wireless (DECT 6.0) phones (GE 28112EE2-A and Panasonic KX-TGA740) and both had the same terrible results. So I'm off to return it in the hopes of finding something that can provide a cleaner sound.

Sounds very good and is comfortable to wear. Arrived quickly, packaged well, as described. So far this headset works great. Highly Recommend the Seller and the Product.

I paid a bit extra to get the USB adapter, but it was still cheaper than the old model at the brick and mortar retailers, like OfficeD and OfficeM. Not traveler friendly for business trips, etc. Not a huge deal though and I still highly recommend this headset. One thing I always try to get is a model with a microphone volume adjustment. The shorter boom stays out of the way when you are eating,/ drinking, while this one is a bit too close and they angled the end towards your head so you have to pull the boom back to get it out from in front of your mouth. I even make sure I wear it for all my personal calls on landlines or cell.My only gripe really is that the USB adapter I thought would be a small compact single molded plastic piece.

The adapter is actually quite large and has a cable that goes to a small box and then another cable that goes to the headset. That at least tells me that they thought about it and it would be loud enough for both portable and mobile phones. There is only one boom now and it it even longer than the long boom I used to use. I am on the phone for hours a day and I can't function without this headset. This one works well and has only some minor changes to the design, namely the boom. I have owned a similar model for about 2 years until the microphone volume just seemed to fade when using it on my cell.

Prior model came with two boom lengths and I always used the long one. It is comfortable to wear almost all day.

This headset is VERY friendly for folks who wear glasses and I have been wearing it most of the afternoon without discomfort. The only drawback was the packaging, the plastic that it came in was glued together and sort of difficult to open, but all things considering with that being the only drawback I'm more than pleased with the actual product. Comfort is second to none. After I received the MX500i I proceeded to make calls on both my BB and home phone (connected to Ooma), and switched between both the MC200C and MX500i and the people on the other end stated there was a night and day difference with the MX500i being superior both in terms of both sound quality, and cancellation of background noiseIn terms of ease of putting the device on, this can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, putting the device on isn't as bad as you think it will be. My situation is that I work from home part of the time as well as commute into the city, so I need a headset that will work with:- Home Phone on Ooma(2.5MM headset)- Laptop (Skype using USB)- Blackberry (2.5MM headset)I've gone through a variety of headsets from the Jawbone2 (both laptop and BB have Bluetooth) and found the sound quality was good, but fit was off, and battery life prevented long use of the device. I've had a horrible time finding a good multi-purpose headset. I've tried the Plantronic MC200C as well as the Plantronics Skype headset--both claiming to have noise cancellation, but both picking up all the ambient noise of the room (my home office is an open setting with the kitchen and living room next to me). I have Oakley glasses and as such headsets that go over the ear, or have loops that go over the ear are very uncomfortable.
